Parameters

Glass can offer much more than just fill a window. Parameters of glass or frame structures need not be limited. Glass allows different kinds of work, fully utilizing its potential and the potential of current technical knowledge. This is the goal of the NOframe4. concept.

Due to the special composition and the total thickness of glazing of approximately 96 mm, NOframe4 glass achieves unique thermal transmittance of Ug = 0.3 W/m2K. This value is quite comparable to modern brick structures!

Frameless character

NOframe4 is insulating quadruple glass framelessly anchored to the supporting structure. From the structural point of view, this is a “projecting installation”, where the NOframe4 glass is anchored to the outer face of the supporting structure of the house, joined to the thermal insulation of the facade of the building. Openings using the NOframe4 solution eliminate the problem of “cold” reveals occurring in traditional fitting. From the interior of the building, the NOframe4 glass spacers are lined by the floor, jambs and ceiling. The absence of the frame underlines absolute visual purity.

Thermal Balance

In contrast to insulated masonry structures, the NOframe4 system has one significant advantage – passive solar gain can be achieved through NOframe4 glass walls. Even the best perimeter structure always has a negative total thermal balance with the limit close to zero due to the absence of solar gain. However, NOframe4 glass walls have a positive energy balance of up to 120 kW/m2/year. Thanks to this parameter, it is possible to achieve sufficient solar gain through NOframe4 glazing to cover a large part of the heating expenses.

Openable Elements

Using the NOframe4 system, we don’t only focus on the insulation and thermal balance of glazing. We also consider the optimal indoor environment as one of our priorities, which we cannot imagine without fresh air supply and diverse sound background daily provided by nature. For these reasons, the NOframe4 system always contains openable components, ideally from floor to ceiling to ensure high-quality ventilation. Even narrow openings are fine – we call them “razor blades”. And the material used? We prefer wood, and we can even offer a highly luxurious version where the frames and leaves are just glazed from the inside to keep the natural character of the wood, hidden under black glass from the outside. We call this solution “wood-glass”. We place everything in one level with the glass, which creates one compact glass wall from the outside.

For all cases where the “razor blade” is not sufficient, we offer the NOframe4 system with sliding windows – called “portals”. These enable an extraordinary connection of the interior with the exterior. Both standard openable elements and portals for the NOframe4 system are offered in wood-glass. You will see nothing but glass from the exterior side. Conversely, only the sliding leaf is revealed in the interior. This ensures maximum purity of the sliding window solution.
